The artwork was based off of a concept I found on some tutorial site, I think it was tutorial wiz. I tried the tutorial to start off, but the images all sucked above a certain quality. Because of this, the method I used to create this piece was radically different. First, the cracks were from an image I drew myself in Photoshop at super high quality, it took a long time to do all of the cracks to my liking. Then, although assisted by a radial blur filter, the bursts of light are mostly hand-drawn in many, many layers with differing opacities. Last, the land needed some details, so I went up to the highest zoom and started "painting" in white. This piece means a lot to me because, although it has a not-so-uncommon effect, a lot more work went into this one piece than any other method I know of, and I can therefore call this one my own.

still, this is awefully close, and the fact that you have it up as a print is slightly irritating. ill leave it as is, and i wont bother you any more. thats just how i feel

Nice work. Try comparing the detail in the "land forms" close up, though, and the differences in regularity of the light bursts. Oh yeah, and I got for some reason a one-week trial subscription. I made the work a print for two reasons: a friend wanted a mousepad of it, and I want to take full advantage of the one week I have a subscription.
